What is it? The Silent Runner wheel is an innovative pet exercise wheel featuring a safe, solid running surface, silent roller-bearing operation and complete tail & fur safe design. Dual encased ball bearings allow for a smooth, low friction, quiet and smooth glide during use.

Is it safe? The axle-free construction eliminates the possibility of tail entanglement, back injury or worse. That means no more center axle that your pet's fur can get caught on. This design has no pinch areas, and the natural 'bean-shaped' openings allow for an easy entrance and exit, The openings will entice pets to enter and run against a preferred solid wall back. The heavy duty (pet-safe powder coated) metal stand allows for give, protecting your pet from joint pain caused by running on hard fixed surface. Running tracks are solid and have a textured interior non-slip surface for excellent grip. The interior bolt head is protected by a smooth snap-on cover. Every Silent Runner Wheel is assembled and tested in the USA.

How quiet is it? The simple answer...virtually silent. "Things roll better than they slide." The encased dual stainless steel roller-bearings yield low friction, which provides a smooth roll of the wheel. The bearings fit tightly in the wheel so there is no squeaking.

Which size do I need? The Silent Runner wheel is available in 3 sizes to suit many small animals. The 9 inch size is recommended for smaller Sugar Gliders. The 12 inch (regular) size is recommended for larger (or two) Sugar Gliders, and the 12 inch (wide) size is recommended for cages with 3+ Sugar Gliders.

What do I get? Every wheel comes with a heavy duty (safe) powder coated metal stand that allows for a slight give when in use, protecting your pet from joint damage caused by running on a fixed surface. The rear(back)plate has 2 encased stainless steel bearing sets and the front plate has the 'bean shaped' entry holes. The tracks have 'grip grove texture' on the inner surfaces for ideal traction, and the track is removable for easy cleaning. Approved by veterinarians, the Silent Runner wheels are made to the highest standards in the industry. Silent Runners can be used either free-standing or will attach directly to a wire cage with the optional hardware package (sold separate). Completely washable.

Will the bearings last? Silent Runner Wheels are made with high quality stainless steel encased sealed bearings. There are two bearing sets per wheel, mounted in the back plate. The bearings are built to last, they are the same type of bearings used in the manufacture of roller skates. If after time, the bearings do need replacing, you can replace the bearings individually(we offer replacements) or you can simply replace the back panel of the wheel, which contains 2 new bearings.

How do I attach it to the cage side? Silent Runner wheels can be mounted directly to the side of any wire cage, cage mounting does require a 'Cage Attachment Kit' which is sold separate. The Cage Attachment Kit allows you to mount any size Silent Runner wheel to any wire cage. The Cage Attachment kit contains two solid steel plates (powder coated), an longer bolt, aluminum spacer, safety bolt cap and wingnut screw. Mounting is simple and will take about 30 seconds to complete.

Can I get nail trimming tracks for it? Yes, Sandy Tracks are available for all size Silent Runner Wheels. You can purchase these durable (washable) Sandy Tracks in the Silent Runner section of the website. Sandy tracks are wheel tracks that replace the standard Silent Runner tracks and provide a 'soft sand' abrasive surface that will trim your pets' nails while they run on the wheels.
