Curious, social and playful by nature, sugar gliders can live an enriched life in captivity, with a little help from you. Provide your Sugar glider with a choice of several sleeping spots. Cage nest pouches made of soft polar materials are ideal. Snuggle Sacks, Teepee's, and soft hammocks or tunnels make ideal hang-outs. An essential accessory for every Sugar glider cage is an exercise wheels. Wodent Wheels are the most popular, with their unique 'holes in the side', they invite your glider inside to run and play. Wodent wheels also have special 'sanded' tracks available to trim the nails while the sugar glider runs. These tracks(called Sandy Tracks)make grooming much easier, it basically takes care of itself. Be aware, that some wheels that are not specifically marketed for Sugar gliders can cause tail injuries, stick with a Wodent Wheel and you won't have this issue. Artificial vines, Manzinitta branches, and bending ropes will add areas of the cage for your pet to climb and jump, mimicking their natural environment. Foraging-type toys keep your Glider happy hunting for treats. Coconut huts, Glider safe toys that dangle and spring are sure to keep your glider occupied during the times when you or your family are not around to socialize with him/her. Remember, a Sugar gliders favorite toy is you. Be prepared to devote a minimum of one to two hours per night to play with your glider for its optimum health and happiness.
